Launched by Afeni Shakur seven years after the passing
of her son Tupac, education fundraising themed line Makaveli
Branded remains unique in clothing stores across the United
States, Germany, Canada, Japan and France with proceeds
being donated to its Tupac Scholarship Foundation and upcoming
Tupac Center For The Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Recent Makaveli Branded related highlights include Afeni's
2003 "Tupac Resurrection" documentary receiving
an Oscar nomination and Tupac's "Rose That Grew From
Concrete" poetry book being placed on numerous 2004
school reading lists, adding to Tupac's music and movie
library of sixteen solo albums and six Hollywood films
plus an additional five documentaries and six books released
since 1997 by Tupac's family, comrades and posthumous scholars.
