Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey icon Wayne Gretzky and model Janet Jones, has officially released her debut single on iTunes, the world's #1 source and choice for online music. Entitled "Collecting Dust", Paulina's song has been the talk of MTV forums, message boards and chat rooms since premiering on their hit show 'Laguna Beach'.
The eldest of Wayne Gretzky's five children, Paulina's live singing debut in 2003 was a landmark event in itself, her father playing alongside Edmonton Oilers alumni as they faced off against Montreal Canadians alumni for the Heritage Classic. Over 50,000 fans gave Paulina a standing ovation after hearing her at Edmonton's Commonwealth outdoor stadium. Paulina's sophmore live singing performance was in Toronto at the World Cup of Hockey in 2004, at which she sang the Canadian national anthem.
Paulina made her modelling debut in 2005 for the cover of Canada's FLARE Magazine, her mother Janet having posed for the same magazine's cover 17 years prior. Paulina's acting debut was opposite Justin Timberlake in the recent "Alpha Dog" film, in which Janet also acted in. There have even been discussions with producers of "Degrassi: The Next Generation" about having Paulina join the hit series cast.
Her "Collecting Dust" single is produced by acclaimed musician Michael Lord, whose own music has been featured in numerous film and TV productions. No stranger to unique collaborations, Michael Lord's debut music video "Come To Me" featured actress Kristanna Loken, who starred in "BloodRayne" opposite Sir Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen and Michelle Rodriguez.
"Paulina has a real passion for singing, acting as well as modeling, so Janet and I have always encouraged her to work hard and follow her dreams," explains Wayne Gretzky.
